I live and work on Bowen Island, just a short swim from Vancouver, BC.

I have 20 years of experience using WordPress for content marketing, online learning, eCommerce, and SEO.

I decided to get into WordPress Development as a freelancer to help other business owners succeed online.

11 Years in the Fitness Industry – with WordPress

In 2007, I founded Sea Hiker Swimming, which became the number one swim coaching company in Vancouver, BC, offering open water swimming courses, training for triathletes, and learn-to-swim courses for adults.

In 2016, Sea Hiker Swimming was voted Top 10 Small Businesses in BC for Best Community Impact for contributions to the local open water swimming and triathlon community.

In 2017, I also launched The Sea Hiker Guide – an online swim coaching platform in WordPress with over 12 training programs with video demonstrations, lessons and practice guides.

Sea Hiker’s business relied heavily on creating great client experiences and online content to generate word of mouth, referrals, and search engine traffic. We were consistently ranked #1 in Google Search Results for our target keywords related to swim coaching, adult swimming courses, and open water swimming.

Our YouTube channel grew to over 10,000 subscribers and I authored over 150 articles for the Sea Hiker blog.

From Founder to Web Developer

The most important thing I learned that’s relevant to online website owners is that producing great content is more than half the battle, whether it’s personalized content, an online experience for your audience, or the community you create with your brand.

I really enjoy talking to small business owners, organizations, and professionals about how to thrive in their chosen niche.

What I bring to Web Development is an understanding of the challenges business owners face every day. It’s not enough to get a new website or eCommerce shop – you have to know how to use it effectively.
